Extrusion

PROCEDURE FOR EXTRUSION :

Remove the previously processed polymer as well as possible

Temperature changes are not necessary, but check the temperature range of the ASACLEAN™ Type used is suitable.

Check the temperature range of the polymer being purged to match the correct grade of ASACLEAN™.

Meter ASACLEAN™ with low screw speed until the barrel is completely filled. If the extruder has a vent, put 20% of the extruder capacity of ASACLEAN™ into the vent hole.

Sieve plates need only be removed if they are bigger than 80 mesh (200 mesh on a twin extruder).

It is recommended to leave ASACLEAN™ over the whole extruder length for at least 10-15 minutes in the cylinder. With temperatures higher than 300° C the residence time should not exceed 30 minutes.

To end the procedure, extrude ASACLEAN™ with varied screw speed If contamination is still visible repeat step 3.

Once ASACLEAN™ is visibly clean, finish with maximum speed to remove ASACLEAN™ completely. Adjust the temperature for the following polymer and start with the next production.
